چکیده

An approximate analysis is presented together with a physicaf description of the modes of propagation in stripline and microstrip devices of significant width, using ferrite slabs as dielectric material, magnetized perpendicular to the ground plane. The dominant mode resembles TEM propagation, except that there is a strong transverse field displacement, causing wave energy to be concentrated along one edge of the line. Nonreciprocal behavior is obtainable by asymmetrically loading the edges. Approximate analytical techniques are given for isolators and phase shifters, with examples of numerical computations and experimental results.

Study of Non-reciprocal Dichroism in Photonic Structures

Non-reciprocal phenomena are widely used in photonic devices. Important applications such as isolators and circulator waveguide structures depend on non-reciprocal effects. The basis of these phenomena is a difference in phase or refractive index for an electromagnetic wave of a given polarization as it travels through a medium in opposite directions. Generally this applies to the real part of ...

Nonreciprocal and magnetically scanned miniaturized leaky-wave antennas using coupled transmission lines

This paper presents a new class of magnetically scanned leaky wave antennas (LWAs), incorporating ferrite (or possibly magnetoelectric composite), for wide angle beamsteering. Using the ferrite’s tunable permeability beamsteering is achieved by controlling the external bias field. This is unlike most leaky-wave antennas requiring frequency modulation to steer the beam. Our first design is based...

Highly Selective Lowpass Filter with Wide Stopband in Suspended Stripline Technology for Millimeter-wave Diplexer Applications

This paper presents a low loss and high selective lowpass filter which is implemented using suspended stripline (SSL) technology. The proposed structure is comprised of a 13th order generalized Chebyshev lowpass filter which enjoys integrated waveguide-to-SSL transitions. This filter is designed and fabricated to be used as lowpass channel of a U-band diplexer employed in frontend of a U-band d...
